Remembering Levon...

This is a day that always sneaks up on me. It comes out of nowhere and hits me hard. Levon was a beloved friend and mentor, a hysterical buddy to pal around with, a great bandmate, and at times a difficult, stubborn ol' mule. He possessed a wealth of knowledge (musical and otherwise), had a bottomless supply of stories and an awesome sense of humor - I miss him everyday...always thought he'd outlive us all. I still don't think of him as "gone"...I just think we haven't spoken in a while - then I remember...

I wrote "Crazy Old Man" on this night four years ago - it's a love song, for a man that was part boss, part musical hero, part brother and part fatherly-figure...so our relationship was complex to say the least. That's what I tried to convey through that song.

There's plenty more to say about him. I could write a book if I wanted. However, the only thing that you really need to know about Lee...is that he was loved...dearly, completely and will be, forever.
